Our Event Description:
The West Coast Asian Student Union Conference is a student-led event bringing together Asian and Pacific Islander students from across the West Coast for a day of connection, leadership, and community. Through speakers, workshops, and cultural activities, students will explore identity, build confidence, and engage with important social issues.

Drew Shih
Drew Shih is a social impact entrepreneur and community leader with over 20 years of experience in leadership development, restoration work, and community-building. He has worked across international cities including Taipei, Seoul, Vancouver, and Montreal, bringing a global perspective to his work. His personal journey is one of resilience and transformation, and he now dedicates his work to empowering others through leadership and service. Drew is also the owner of Kung Fu Tea in Woodside and has been recognized for his impact in both community and business spaces.
Abigail Hing Wen
Abigail Hing Wen is a New York Times bestselling author, filmmaker, and entrepreneur known for her work amplifying Asian American stories and voices. She is the author of the Loveboat, Taipei series, which has also been adapted into a film. A graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, Abigail has built a career at the intersection of storytelling, media, and technology. Through her work, she aims to empower young people to embrace their identity and share their stories with confidence.
Abigail will also be holding a book signing during the conference for her New York Times bestselling novels Loveboat, Taipei and The Vale, allowing students to meet her, hear from her directly, and get their books signed during the event.
